Clam Chowder

2 cans clams (don't drain)
1 cup diced celery
1/2 cup chopped onions
2 cups diced potatoes
water (if needed) to just cover vegetables
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
1 pint half & Half
1 pint milk
1-1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp white pepper

Combine clams, celery, onions, potatoes, and water (if needed) in pot on stove and simmer 25 minutes.

While clams & vegetables are simmering, make white sauce our of butter, flour, half & half, milk, salt, sugar, white pepper.

Add white sauce to vegetables and clams. Heat until desired consistency and vegetables are soft enough to eat. You may want to add a little milk if it’s too thick.
